How and when can I get my results?

How can I send my scores to Recognizing Organizations?

Where did you write your test?

How can I apply for a remark?

Where did you write your test?

What do my results mean?

  • If you are comfortable using computers, the CD test will suit you.
  • If you need results in a hurry, the CD test will suit you.
  • Paper-based tests are still available at all Precise Solutions test venues.
  • A transfer between a CD and a paper IELTS test (and vice versa) is not possible.

1. What is computer-delivered IELTS?

  • Computer-delivered (CD) IELTS is the same as paper-based IELTS except it is taken on a computer. The test fee is the same as paper-based IELTS: $359 CAD in Ontario or $339 in Alberta.

2. Is it the same content? Is CD harder?

  • If you choose to take computer-delivered IELTS, you will take the Listening, Reading, and Writing test using a computer. All aspects of the test are identical to paper-based IELTS, including:

Question types

Content

Timings*

Marking

* In the computer-delivered Listening test, the timings are slightly different from the paper-based test. This is because the paper-based test requires users to transfer answers to an answer sheet. This step becomes redundant when answering directly on a computer.

  • Before the start of each part of the Listening test, you will have some time to read the questions.
  • After the end of each part of the Listening test, you will have some time to review your answers.
  • At the end of the Listening test, you will have 2 minutes to check all your answers.
  • The timing of the Listening test is between 30–34 minutes.

3. Will the Speaking Interview change?

  • The speaking interview is not changing and will be carried out face-to-face with an IELTS examiner. It will be on the same day as the test. Sign up for your interview time when you register.

4. Can I take food/drinks inside the test room?

  • You may not take any food/drinks inside the computer room. Water is available outside the test room before, during, and after the test.

5. How often will CD be offered?

  • See the schedule on ieltscentres.com. We offer the Academic and General Training tests every day. You can select a morning, afternoon, or evening test; sign up for your speaking interview time too. Check this link for all available dates for CD IELTS.

6. How do I register? What about timings?

  • The CD test day calendar is available at this link. Just click on the date you want and proceed to register.
  • Remember Academic and General Training tests are offered every day at our venues across Toronto, Mississauga, and Brampton.
  • You must bring your original valid ID (passport, Canadian PR card, or refugee document). If you bring a different ID (e.g. a driver's license), no ID, a photocopy or an expired ID, you cannot write the IELTS test. For any of these cases, there is no transfer or refund.
  • You should arrive at the test venue at least 30 minutes before the start of your written test. If you arrive within 15 minutes of the start of the test or do not have a proper ID, unfortunately, we cannot let you sit the test or process a refund or a transfer. You should arrive 15 minutes before your speaking test time. If you do not come in good time, you will not be allowed to do your speaking test. If you miss your written or speaking test, you will forfeit your IELTS test completely and will not receive a Test Report Form. There will be no transfer or refund.

7. When will I get my results?

  • Your results will be released 3-5 days after you complete the last section of your test. We will send you an email with all the necessary details and the link to check your results online. Make sure to check your inbox and spam folder for that email.

8. What is the IELTS policy with regard to transfer/cancellation/refund?

  • You can transfer your test up to 7 days before test day at an administrative fee.
  • We can cancel your test up to 7 days before test day for a partial refund.
  • No transfer, cancellation, or refund is possible within 7 days of the test date.

Candidates seeking cancellation or transfer within 1 week before the test date will only receive a refund/transfer if they can provide evidence that their ability to sit the test has been affected by a serious illness or cause:

  • Serious illness—hospital admission or serious injury.
  • Loss or bereavement—death of a close family member.
  • Hardship/trauma—victim of crime, victim of traffic accident.
  • Military service.

Candidates must email us no later than five (3) working days after the test date. You must attach appropriate documentation and/or evidence: a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death notice or certificate, or a police report.

The doctor’s note must be in English, on letterhead paper, stamped and signed by the doctor, state the doctor’s credentials, and state both the illness and how this prevented you from taking the test. The note must also indicate the test date. A medical note that misses any of these requirements will not be accepted. Upon approval by the IELTS Administrator, a transfer fee is incurred. Once the fee has been paid, we will transfer your test.

If a candidate is absent on the day of the test, they will lose the full test fee. If they wish to write the test, they must register anew and pay again.

If a candidate is late, they will not be admitted. No transfer or refund is possible, either.

Refunds

Refunds are processed within 1-2 weeks from the date of the request.
